WELCOME TO FYNBOS PHIL ECO-TOURS

Come and meet me, 'Fynbos Phil', the expert guide on all things ecological (and some others besides), and experience the wonders of Cape Town in a whole new way!
I am a registered tour guide for Cape Town and surrounds and have an Honours Degree in Botany from the University of Cape Town, so I can show you things from a very unique perspective.
I am deeply fascinated with all things ecological and love to explore the natural world from the very large and well-known (like majestic Table Mountain) right down to the very small and little known (like the special insect and bird pollinators found in fynbos).
I offer the following, personalised tours:
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens Tour
Wine Routes
Table Mountain Hike
Eco-Tour of the Cape Peninsula
Introduction to Fynbos Walk
Walk with baboons
Whale Watching by Boat in False Bay
Wetlands EcoTour
Birding Tour(s)
Seasonal Tours
Historical Tour of Newlands' Brewing (including Brewery Tour at SAB - the world's largest brewer)
I also conduct school and class tours especially into the fynbos - these are tailored to suit the curriculum, so please teachers, contact me and we can design a walk or a demonstration class at your school.

These gardens are an absolute wonder to explore! Without needing to travel, you can experience many of the floral and botanical delights this country has to offer. Most notably, Kirstenbosch is home to a wonderful display of the plants from the Cape Floral Kingdom (one of the UNESCO Natural Wonders of the World), not to mention the birdlife!
I conduct either half or full day tours of the gardens, depending either on how much you want to see or how relaxed you want to take the day.

The Cape is world famous for (amongst many other things!) the quality of its wine. Easily accessible from Cape Town, there are many farms, estates and tasting rooms to see and enjoy, as well as a few interesting diversions on the way!
You will have an opportunity at each farm we visit to buy wine for the rest of your trip, or have cases shipped back home.

Taking a picture from the top of this majestic mountain overlooking the Mother City of Cape Town is a thrilling experience. There is a cable-car ride for those concerned about fitness levels, but the thrill of your photographs will be exponentially increased with the satisfaction of knowing that you WALKED UP YOURSELF. This can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on fitness, but we'll stop plenty of times for pictures of your ascent and to look more closely at the incredible plant - and bird-life along the way.
You should plan to spend at least half and hour exploring the top of the mountain.
